Day 1: Update [Rally Start]

At the start line of the rally, all the boys were very happy & full of vigor, but every thing was set to change in short time. Lots of drama on the opening day of the rally itself, when the rains played its dominance against the top drivers & cars of the championships. At the end of the day Proton's PG Andersson leads at a comfortable lead of more than a minute ahead of Team MRF's Gaurav Gill. However, Gill's team-mate & the championship leader Australian Chris Atkinson had his share of problems at the opening stage of the rally & lost over 22 mins to the rally leader! Colin's brother, Proton Motorsports driver Alister McRae sits in third at the end of the day!

A recap of the day, in this tell tale video clip. Former PWRC champ, veteran driver, Malaysian & Proton's 2WD R3-spec rally car driver Karamjit Singh explains it better!

Proton did some testing before hand of the rally. Here is the video of the drivers, and what they think and expect of this rally!

All the formalities of the rally was taken care and recce was done by the competitors! Recce is nothing but reconnaissance of the special stages to make 'Pace Notes', which describes how the roads are & what the driver can expect the next section of the competitive stage! Usually they do it in a day or two in advance of the rally, which is controlled passage by the organisers and only allowed twice each direction!

Even the Shakedown stage was held.
