APRC 2012 : Round 5, Rally Hokkaido

Round 5 of the FIA APRC, 2012 season is on the word 'GO' in about a day! The rally is famous for the really fast and narrow forest stages & the most famous SSS stage in the woods.

Proton Motorsports have maintained the attack with their two Proton Satria S2000 cars with Alistar McRae on car #1 & Finnish Juha Salo in their second car, as their other driver P.G.Andersson is going to attack the stages of Wales Rally GB with two Proton Satria S2000 cars with the second new driver Tom Cave [from GB] in the team. So at both the events the four drivers will be driving at max to achieve an anticipated victory on both the important round of either championship rally.

Team MRF is not in a very good position as their no#1 driver Chris Atkinson will also be driving in Wales Rally GB, but behind the wheel of Mini WRC for Mini Motorsports Italia, even so his name is already in the top of the entry list. So Indian driver Gaurav Gill will be alone leading the team attack with their newly inducted Skoda Fabia S2000 [from this season onwards], perhaps in a more cautious, since there will be no other car to continue attack if at all have to retire. Hope he will get through flying colours despite of the pressure on himself as with the team.

Apart from these two major teams with their major changes in the entry-list, the down-order with the Proton & Cusco teams have their cars & crews intact for the attack for this with no changes to the last rally. The complete entry-list can be found here. From the regular attack list since the beginning of the season, there were a few Evo X & Impreza's who are also there in their Group N4 & R4 cars. But this is the homeland of Mitsubishi, Subaru & Suzuki's remember! So there are a whole lot of them too competing both privately & as teams.
